My partner and I ventured to Lorne as part of a mid-week getaway last week.
Lorne hasn’t always been my first preference when visiting coastal towns along the Great Ocean Rd, but as we were coming from Colac we decided to take a quicker drive (around 40 minutes) compared to the hour-long drive to our beloved Apollo Bay.
Upon arriving on a Wednesday morning, we found there were still tourist buses stopped on the footpath but less than you’d normally see on a weekend. Several locals were out and about and the sun was just heating up.
In Lorne you are spoilt for choice of cafes so as we were walking along the main drag looking for a coffee we decided to try Moons Espresso Bar.
My partner ordered a long black, which he said was “very strong” and I had my usual latte. It must be noted that Moons use Coffee Supreme which is perhaps why our coffee was just to our liking.
Sitting outside on the communal picnic tables we enjoyed our coffee and the view of the beach.
