Cafe of the week: Pipers by the Lake

Screen Shot 2014-11-10 at 10.41.38 AMIMG_2030This week I visited Pipers by the Lake, a cafe situated on Lake Wendouree in Ballarat’s Botanical Gardens.

Pipers is the perfect place to sit down and relax after a wander in the Botanical Gardens for brekky, lunch or a sweet treat.

Lake Wendouree is a must-see and do while visiting Ballarat and if you have time, it’s worth walking around the lake (six kilometres) on the Steve Moneghetti Track.

My partner, his parents and I enjoyed afternoon tea at Pipers before exploring the gardens and taking a walk down the Prime Minsters Avenue to check out Julia Gillard’s newly erected bust.

The beautifully manicured gardens, statues and significant trees are a sight to see and I throughly enjoyed my afternoon wandering through the gardens and sweet treat at Pipers.
