Cafe of the week: Top Paddock

This week, I ventured to popular Richmond eatery, Top Paddock.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI have seen many a instagram of Top Paddock’s amazing breakfast and brunch items and upon arriving at the cafe, my friend Anne and I were amazed at the size of the place. There were different sized tables, dining areas – including outdoors – perfect for a quick coffee or lazy Sunday brunch with friends.

After being seated I ordered my usual latte and Anne her soy mocha.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI didn’t have too much trouble when deciding what to choose on the menu as I had already heard (seen, Instagram) many great things about their blueberry and ricotta hotcakes. Served with berries, organic maple, seeds and double cream, these hotcakes were nothing like I’ve had before. The hotcake itself was light and fluffy and the freshness of the blueberries combined with the ricotta blew me away.

Anne ordered the house smoked thick cut bacon and fried egg roll with pear and apple chutney which was also delicious. I think we both decided that we would be back with our partners for a second helping in the not too distant future.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetWe also scored a free doughboys doughnut which was just the cherry on top of a wonderful late brunch.
