Cafe of the week: Zumbo Patisserie

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset
Adriano Zumbo’s patisserie in South Yarra is quite a sight to behold.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetUpon entering Claremont St off Toorak Rd, the glow of the pink neon lights synonomous with Zumbo’s lead me to the famous patisserie. I was blown away with design of the cafe itself and of course Zumbo’s fantastic sweet creations.

Amoung my choices were decadent petit gateau such as ‘secret carrot’s business‘, Zumbarons (macarons), Zonuts (cronut), tarts, pastries as well as a selection of savoury delights.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI couldn’t resist trying Zumbo’s Zonut and this week the doughnut-cross-croissant was filled with refreshing lemon custard topped with blueberry marshmallows. Yum.

I also ordered a latte and chatted with the friendly staff and was envious when they informed me they take home left over pastries and cakes at the end of the day (if they’re not sold out first).

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI wasn’t going to purchase anything else but after I enquired about the pain au chocolat, the friendly waitress told me that it was made with milk and dark chocolate inserts. Sold.
