This morning I visited South Yarra cafe, Two Birds One Stone. On such a gloomy, yet humid Melbourne day I was looking for somewhere to chill before I went to an interview up the road.
At around 9.40am, the cafe was still buzzing with customers eating brekky and sipping coffee. I sat on the communal table in the middle of the cafe where other diners were having business meetings and catch-ups. Here I was just reading the newspaper. I always feel awkward sitting in a cafe solo.
After careful consideration of the menu (I’m fructose intollerant and find breakfast very hard to go out for), I decided on the chai yoghurt panna cotta with winter fruits, a nut granola cluster and orange syrup. I also ordered a latte.
My brekky was deliciously spiced with chai flavours, although my latte had bubbles in the foam but that can be overlooked by how good the yoghurt panna cotta was. The atmosphere was also very on trend, with plenty of pendant lights and lovely flower arrangements on the tables.
I would definitely put Two Birds One Stone on your list if you’re visiting South Yarra, but if you’re heading there on a weekend, be prepared to go early or wait in the queue.
